Welcome back to the two time Defending Stanley Cup Champions. The moves at the trade deadline has bolstered this hockey club and has given them a new lease on life and a new look going into the playoffs. This Wings team is now 8-0-0 and counting since the deadline, their longest winning streak since March of 1996. Incidentally, Sergei Fedorov has a 10 game POINT streak, his longest since 1996. The Toledo Storm, the Red Wings ECHL franchise, opened up their playoffs on Tuesday night in Peoria against the St. Louis Blues franchise. They dropped game one to the Rivermen but came back on Wednesday night to even up the series 1 game a piece. Shawn Maltby, Kirk Maltby's younger brother, scored 2 of the Storm's 5 goals in game two. The Series moves back to Toledo for games three and four on Friday and Saturday night. Tickets are still available. It's a best of five series, so if the Storm can win Friday night, they have a chance to close out round one on home ice on Saturday night. Game times are 7:30 E.D.T.
